Governor Rick Snyder has proclaimed February 4 – 10, 2018 as “Enrolled Agent Week”. This proclamation is to educate the public about the qualifications “EAs” must have in order to become a federally-licensed tax professional. Enrolled Agents pass a stringent three-part exam administered by the IRS, must earn annual continuing education credits, and abide by a code of ethics. They are “America’s Tax Experts”! In addition to tax preparation, EAs also are able to represent taxpayers in IRS cases of audits, collections, or appeals.
