Beginning January 1, 2018, the new minimum wage rate in Michigan increases to $9.25 for hourly employees.
- For employees aged 16 and 17, employers are allowed to pay 85% on minimum hourly wage rate.
- Training Wage remains at $4.25 for newly hired employees aged 16 to 19 for their first 90 days of employment.
- Employees who are tipped may be paid 38% of Michigan’s minimum wage.
- Overtime remains the same at one and one half times the minimum rate for hours over 40 in a work week.
